Maissi Bench

Maissi Bench by Kaksikko for Fritz Hansen.

The Maissi bench was created in 2017 by the design studio Kaksikko, established by Helsinki based designers Salla Luhtasela and Wesley Walters. The bench was first introduced at an exhibition of Finnish design in Mexico.

The unique design features a curved wooden rail, asymmetrically framing the back and one side of the seat, taking inspiration from traditional stair bannisters and industrial machinery parts.

The contemporary bench comfortably seats two, it's versatile and narrow form makes it ideal for smaller spaces such as a hallway but equally the clean-lined, open-framed bench feels at home in any room in the house.
