Alfred Homann

Alfred Homann was a renowned Danish architect and designer born in 1948. He graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1976 and spent some time working with various Danish and American architects before establishing his studio in Copenhagen in 1978.

Homann was known for his designs' simplicity, clarity, logic and keen eye, evident in his vast oeuvre, which includes furniture, lighting, and architectural projects for museums, railway stations, private residences, and public buildings.

Homann's designs were characteristic of the Danish minimalism and functionalism era. He took a holistic approach to design, seeking to connect the object being designed and its purpose.

During his career, Homann won numerous international design awards, including the Red Dot award, IF Product Design-Award, and a Brunel Award. He also served on the jury of the Danish Industrial Design Prize and other awards, presenting awards to other designers.
