Egon Eiermann

One of Germany's most significant post-war architects, Egon Eiermann (1904 – 1970) had a particular interest in steel-frame construction techniques and preferred the modernist aesthetic. Eiermann's most notable buildings include the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin, the Bundestag in Bonn, the German Embassy in Washington and the Olivetti towers in Frankfurt.

He is also known for his furniture designs which are characterised by rigorous and elegant functionalism.
