Marre Moerel is a designer from Breda, Netherlands. She started her design career whilst studying fashion design, sculpture and furniture design a the Royal College of Art in London, and in 1991 graduated with a Master's Degree. After university, Moerel spent some years in New York and taught furniture design at Parsons School of Design.
Marre Moerel main focus is in interior, product and furniture design. She combines different art, sculptural and installation practices within her work. Most recently, her work has been featured in global exhibitions and publications. Marre Moerel has been awarded multiple awards including the “Best New Collection”, at Tokyo Designers Block (Japan) and“Best of ICFF Show”, for the Design Journal, New York.
She has collaborated with a number of brands and manufacturers of different projects, including the Soundwave collection for Offecct where she designed and developed the Sky acoustic panel which combines an angular rectangular form and architectural elements, to absorb the sound.
