Mette Schelde

Mette Schelde is a Danish architect, known for experimentation with everyday functions.

In 2012, Mette Schelde established their own studio, focusing on furniture, lighting and architecture designs. Her designs are recognised for being functional, yet simple and elegant in structure. Schelde plays with traditional materials such as wood and glass to create products that have a sense of architecture and functionality.

An important part of Schelde's design process is to combine the object with the human and context. Mette Schelde's first design for Fritz Hansen was the side table Stub, which is assembled with glass and wood.
