Rainer Daumiller

Daumiller, a self-taught furniture designer, started his journey at a young age. While in elementary school, he and a friend designed a desk and wardrobe, which were made by a local carpentry shop. After finishing high school, Daumiller became a cabinetmaker and gained further knowledge from the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner and a teacher from the Waldorf School in Stuttgart. This unique training taught him to listen to the materials and let their natural characteristics shape the design.

In 1959, Daumiller moved to Denmark and enrolled in the Artisan School's Furniture Department, where he studied under renowned furniture designers and experimented with acrylic for his graduation project. Despite his experimentation with new materials, Daumiller was always drawn to natural pine, which inspired him to create his designs.
