Stelton

Stelton was formed by Niels Stellan Høm and Carton Madelaire. The pair originally tried designing sports shoes and furniture. When this didn't work out the duo formed an allegiance with a company called Danish Stainless and, in the 1960s, began producing and marketing a stainless steel gravy boat that put the Stelton name on the design map.

Stelton's second breakthrough came with the new managing director, Peter Holmblad, step-son of Arne Jacobson. A simplistic line drawing of a teapot on a napkin formed the basis of Arne Jacobsen's tableware collection with Stelton which is now considered as an archetype of timeless classic tableware design.

Collaborations with other designers such as Erik Magnussen have further boosted Stelton's reputation for quality, functional design at an affordable price point.
