Gino Sarfatti fascination with the gentle illumination of the moon inspired the Le Sfere series, which includes the Model 2109 pendant light, designed in 1959. The Le Sfere collection is a multifaceted, versatile lighting system, excellent for lighting all kinds of spaces with its ambient moon-like illuminating spheres.
The Chandelier consists of a circular arrangement of blown opaline glass spheres. The spheres are secured in place by large Black or Champagne painted steel radial rings. The rings allow the spheres to be oriented downward or upward producing direct or indirect illumination. Model 2109/14/16 and model 2109/14/24 feature 14 cm blown opaline glass spheres in arrangements sixteen and twenty-four respectively. The spheres of the Model 2109/20/16 are larger, measuring 20cm in diameter.
