Considered a true icon of modern design, the CH24 chair was the first of many celebrated seats designed by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen + Søn. To celebrate the successful and meaningful partnership between the two, a selection of finishes for the iconic chair will be available at a special price until 30th November 2023.
The chair epitomises Wegner's unceasing quest for organic simplicity, fashioning sculptural elegance, comfort, and exceptional stability.
Affectionately dubbed the 'wishbone' or 'Y' chair due to its iconic steam-moulded Y-shaped back, which imparts both support and steadiness, the CH24 is crafted over 100 distinct production phases, including a handwoven seat using 120 meters of enduring paper cord, built to endure for up to five decades.
Conceived initially in 1949, the CH24 chair has maintained uninterrupted production since 1950, cementing its place as one of the most instantly recognisable and universally adored designs of the 20th century.
