Designed in 1959, Danish architect and furniture designer Bodil Kjaer created the Indoor-Outdoor BK series, a range of functional and elegant outdoor tables and chairs inspired by the relationship between architecture and design. Characterised by a sturdy and clean profile, the outdoor furniture has a timeless appeal which adapts to a range of environments - both indoors and outdoors. 

Each piece demonstrates superior craftsmanship, designed to stand the test of time. Constructed of solid teak, the BK16 wooden side table is able to withstand a range of weather conditions, resulting in a beautiful patina over time.

Carl Hansen opened his furniture workshop in Odense, Denmark in 1908 and soon became known for the high quality of his work.

In the early days, the company produced bespoke furniture – including everything from dining room sets to bedroom suites. As the company grew and times changed, however, it gradually began to produce smaller series of its most popular pieces. This combination of hand craftsmanship and rational series production soon became the firm’s hallmark – and continues to set it apart today.
