Teasel paperweight
Teasel paperweight by B&A Needham for Hafod Grange.
Easily identifiable by its prickly stem and leaves, Teasel (Dipsacus Fullonum) is a plant with purple, dark pink, or lavender flowers that form a head on the end of its stems. Extensively used by Fullers for the teasing of wool and fabrics, the seeds are also an important winter food resource for some birds, notably the European goldfinch.
The globe shape allows the specimen to be seen in its beauty from all angles, creating a crystal-clear effect.
Each specimen is hand-picked, then dried using a range of techniques designed to preserve its natural beauty. Next, they are cast in clear resin and then individually turned and polished to a superb finish. Because of the nature of the product, each paperweight is an original work of art, with no two being identical, making it an ideal gift and collectible.
Available in large and small sizes.
Made in Wales, UK.
