Magpie and Hornsea Pottery have collaborated to revive the iconic bird design originally crafted by John Clappison, the chief designer of Hornsea in 1967.
By referencing the original illustrations preserved in the Hornsea Museum, Magpie recreated these treasured designs and produced new ceramic moulds for the bird dish. The dish was then coated with authentic Hornsea colours from the era, resulting in a delightful and versatile dish with a vintage touch for serving small snacks or storing jewellery and trinkets.
