Tom Crew Pedestal Bowl, 2020
Pedestal Bowl by Tom Crew.
‘whilst I enjoy greatly the process of making these humble pots – I feel they only really mean something once they are in daily use - I believe that the more something is used the more real it becomes - until then it's merely a sketch...'
Tom Crew is a London-based potter, working in mottled grey and black clays to create a variety of hand-thrown pieces. Each bowl is inspired by human form and touch, double dipped in a soft matt dolomite glaze, allowing some of the clay's surface to permeate the finish. Due to their handmade nature, each pedestal bowl is unique in shape and size.
