In 2024, Wallace Sewell introduced the Shetland Collection, featuring a range of throws with the British brand's signature style. These throws are crafted from Shetland wool and include three updated designs from 2014 presented in a new colour palette, adding a fresh and modern twist to the original designs.
The Shetland Waffle Throw features a diffused version of Wallace Sewell's classic honeycomb design but is woven in Shetland wool, offering a softer appearance while maintaining its bouncy texture. This blanket features rust, diesel blue, and chartreuse colours for the main design, finished with ecru and sky blue borders.
The wool for this blanket is sourced from Shetland sheep, bred in Scotland's Shetland Islands's harsh and cold climate. Although not as fine as more commonly used lambswool, Shetland wool is incredibly warm and durable while remaining soft, making it ideal for colder temperatures.
Wallace Sewell woven textiles are hand-woven in the UK at family-owned mills.
