The Kingston range was launched in 1967 and conceived as a family of seating designs sharing common components. Both modular in appearance and in the manufacture, the collection offered great flexibility to both domestic and commercial interiors.
The design was considered highly unusual and an individual design statement, but has since become an accepted and much-used typology for modular seating designs.
The high-quality extruded aluminium bar utilised for the base and frame is made to exacting standards and bolted together. The deeply padded, individually upholstered elements are held within the frame and through a range of frame configurations, a harmonious family of seating is available.
William Plunkett supplied Kingston to several important interiors projects, including the QE2. It was used Russell and Bromley shoe stores across the UK and exhibited at the Design Centre in Mayfair. The current production includes a sofa, chair, stool and daybed/bench.
Exclusive to twentytwentyone.
