The salad servers are a part of the Cylinda-Line, born out of a conversation between Peter Holmlad, Jacobsen's stepson, and the owner of Stelton, at a family dinner in 1964. Holmblad wanted Jacobsen to create a complete series of accessories for the home bar, and although initially hesitant, once Jacobsen saw Holmblad's sketches, he began developing these ideas further.
