The concept of the Cylinda-line began in 1964 at a family dinner at Arne Jacobsen's, three years before its official launch in 1967. Arne Jacobsen's stepson, Peter Holmblad, who was also the owner of Stelton, asked Jacobsen to create a complete series for Stelton that would include everything for the home bar. Initially, Jacobsen was hesitant due to his busy schedule, but after Holmblad showed him his sketches, he began developing these ideas further.
