The conception of the Cylinda-line began at a family dinner when Peter Holmlad, Arne Jacobsen's stepson and the owner of Stelton, asked Jacobsen to create a complete series for Stelton that would include everything for the home bar. Jacobsen was initially hesitant due to his busy schedule, but after Holmblad showed him his sketches, Jacobsen began developing these ideas further.
