Beam Café

Beam Café

A recent addition to the vibrant neighbourhood of Muswell Hill in North London is the fourth location of Beam Café. Specialising in Mediterranean breakfast and brunch, the twentytwentyone Contracts team supplied a selection of lights and seating to mirror the café's culinary focus.

Under the creative guidance of Ola Jachymiak Studio, the café's interior fosters a sense of community and joy while embracing a cosy, homely aesthetic. By seamlessly integrating mid-century designs into the contemporary setting, the designers have achieved a harmonious balance that lends a timeless, enduring charm to the space.

Gentle, curved shapes reminiscent of Mediterranean architecture define the design, creating a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. The iconic Rey chairs in vibrant red hues serve as focal points amidst the natural colour palette, punctuating the space with boldness and character. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, these seats designed by Bruno Rey in 1971 are celebrated for their understated elegance, ergonomic comfort, and innovative design.

The organically formed George Nelson pendant lamps add to the ambience, showcasing their natural contours while casting a warm, inviting glow. Their irregular arrangement adds a playful element to the space, while the raw materials and the lamps' soft, rounded forms provide an effortless sense of architectural sophistication.
