Swiss Cottage House
Emma Krikler, in collaboration with architects Studio Carver and a great team of contractors and craftsmen, has reimagined and rebuilt a dark mid-century property and transformed it into a vibrant and inviting home suited to the clients' playful spirit. The interiors, inspired by the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album cover, are decorated with an overall sense of fun and include lively splashes of colour, such as with the orange Reclining Chair.
A joyful climbing wall connects the basement and ground floor, with natural light bathing the surrounding area. This area is designed for social gatherings, with a spacious three-seat Develius sofa and a versatile Stool 60 from Artek, which can double as a small side table.
On the ground floor, the living room features a custom-made cabinet and an upholstered sliding acoustic screen, serving as a backdrop for the inviting furniture. The warm tones of the Slatted Bench and N.200 Chair complement the yellow Mags sofa, fostering a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxation.
Swiss Cottage boasts two meticulously designed home offices that seamlessly marry functionality with aesthetics. In the basement office, you'll find exquisite oak shelving, a desk topped with green marmolium, a resin floor crafted from recycled fishing nets and an adjustable Funiculi table lamp. On the top floor, the workspace features a clever mechanically adjustable desk inspired by Wes Anderson's style, encircled by vibrant joinery, seamlessly blending creativity with practicality. Both offices are furnished with the ergonomic Eames EA 104 Chair, ensuring comfort without sacrificing style.
The basement office opens onto a sheltered courtyard, inviting you to step outside and relax in the comfort of two Palissade Armchairs and an Ottoman, offering a secluded spot to unwind.
The kitchen features striking teal cabinetry, complimenting the room's clean lines and natural wood accents. A glossy Vetra pendant in amber hangs above the kitchen table, strikingly contrasting the rest of the room.
