1882 Ltd

1882 Ltd is a design-led ceramics manufacturer based in Stoke-on-Trent.

The company derives its name from the year in which the Johnson Brothers pottery company was founded. Nearly a century and a half later, in 2011, descendants of the Johnson family revived the business and gave it a name that expressed a deep-rooted connection with the heartland of the British ceramics industry. 

1882 Ltd work with contemporary designers including Faye Toogood, Justin Landon and Fort Standard to produce striking modern designs that draw on a regional tradition of expert craftsmanship, technical prowess and industrial heritage.
