Founded in 1981, Moorlands Candles owes its existence to the ingenuity of Kurt Saybe, a Danish candlemaker who inspired the initial range. In 1993, Moorlands moved from its small-scale setup into a new industrial unit, allowing them to diversify and expand its product range. Since then, they have supplied their candles for multiple films and period dramas, including Mr Turner and Mr Holmes, Jeckel and Hyde, Dickensian and Victoriana.
Moorlands Candles employs the traditional hand-dipping technique to produce modern candles using vibrantly coloured paraffin and responsibly sourced beeswax from the U.K. and Africa.
