The relationship between Isokon Plus and design duo Barber Osgerby is a long and successful one. The Shell chair, designed in 2004, is a continuation of this success with their observations of form and structure, it was designed to accompany the Shell Table.
Barber & Osgerby have an interest in exploring and creating forms from folded sheet material, with this piece the designers had the ambition to create a paper-thin chair without sacrificing durability and comfort.
