Over a short time frame Ernest Race embraced formed plywood and solid wood seating, cast recycled aluminium, organic, flowing upholstery designs and skeletal steel rod structures. The Antelope, designed in 1951, is possibly Race’s most familiar design, now synonymous with the Festival of Britain.
