The PL5.01 is part of the SHADE series by George Sowden. During an exploration into the use of soft silicon for another project, Sowden discovered the material's excellent ability to diffuse light while being highly durable, non-toxic, and easy to clean.
The PL5.01 is composed of a glossy white stand and matching soft silicone shade, which emits a soft, warm light. It has three dimmable settings controlled by tapping the top of the lamp.
The battery lasts four to ten hours when fully charged, depending on the level of brightness. The battery takes approximately three hours to reach full charge.
