Mina Armchair, Webbed
Mina Armchair, Webbed by Bruno Mathsson for Bruno Mathsson International.
In the late 1930s, Bruno Mathsson introduced three chair models - an easy, working and lounge chair - after developing the construction and aesthetics for ten years. These seats were meticulously crafted using a one-piece frame with plaited webbing supported by bent laminated legs, delivering a unique, comfortable and classic design.
Around a decade later, Mathsson developed these seats further with a variation called the Model 42 but ultimately had to drop the design because the only glue available was too weak.
It wasn't until 1978, when stronger glue was on the market that Mathsson fully realised his design in a seat he renamed Mina.
