Drop House

The Drop House by Hudson Featherstone architects is a striking modern build in Herefordshire's Northaw Estate, designed with energy-saving technology, furniture supplied by twentytwentyone.

Drop House

The Drop House, by Hudson Featherstone architects, is a compact five-bedroom house that sought to create a family home that would utilise practical energy-saving construction, while benefitting from modern technologies. The client wanted a home that would adapt to their family life and embody the best in modern architecture.

The building features a series of sculptural elements including the suspended ‘waterdrop’ to which the property owes its name and a stair wall which provides a focal point. Sliding partitions can be found throughout the house, allowing for greater flexibility.

twentytwentyone worked with Hudson Featherstone to supply furniture for the Drop House project.

“Despite the playfulness of Drop House, the design is not different for difference's sake, but a challenge to how housebuilders are now working.”

“This fluid and open use of space caters to the demands of modern family lifestyles while maintaining a certain level of intimacy”
