Wahaca restaurant
The Wahaca restaurant chain offers a modern take on traditional Mexican market food, inspired by founder Thomasina Miers' love for the country's food.
twentytwentyone Contracts initially worked with leading design practice Softroom to supply furniture for Wahaca's Covent Garden restaurant. The design brief for the restaurant mixed an eclectic range of styles and textures to complement the strongly defined visual identity of the chain.
As well as being the first UK project to use Artek’s new Bambu chair (a pioneering product using a highly sustainable material), a variety of stools and chairs from the Striped range by Magis were also used to great effect.
twentytwentyone went on to supply restaurants opened in Westfield shopping Centre in West London, Canary Wharf and several other sites as part of the restaurant chain expansion.
