More Trees is a forestry conservation project founded by the renowned Japanese composer and musician Ryuichi Sakamoto.
The organisation helps to preserve the forests that cover approximately 70% of Japan by funding forestry management and promoting the use of regionally sourced wood. As part of this process, More Trees manufactures a range of furniture and homewares made using sustainably sourced wood worked by local craftsmen.
To mark the tenth anniversary of More Trees, Jasper Morrison and Wataru Kumano have designed a family of stools crafted from unfinished Hinoki wood and formally inspired by the concept of 'connection', a keyword for the conservation organisation.
