Hotaru Mini | Design Guild Mark 2024

We are delighted to announce that Edward Barber + Jay Osgerby's Hotaru Mini lighting collection has been awarded the much-coveted Design Guild Mark 2024.

The Design Guild Mark is bestowed by The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, to encourage innovation and excellence while raising the profile of British Design. Split across three categories - Furniture, Lighting and Interior Design Elements; the award is open to designers working in Britain or British designers working abroad, each submission assessed against set criteria.

The Hotaru Mini joins the acclaimed Hotaru family of pendants, floor and table lights. The scaled version of the Buoy and the Double Bubble retains the essence of the original collection – refined handcrafted washi-paper lanterns, a framework of bamboo cane, and a meticulously hand-forged cast-iron base.

The Hotaru Collection first launched in 2015 at the London Design Festival, created in collaboration with twentytwentyone. The elegant lighting range draws on the heritage of Japanese lantern-making, representing the perfect unison of traditional craft with an enduring modern and timeless aesthetic.
