On top of the seat, the intricate joinery comes into view, a testament to the skills of the designer and the founder of Nikari, Kari Virtanen.
The inception of the Storia chair originated from Virtanen's desire to honour Kaj Franck, widely recognised as the pioneer of contemporary design in Finland. Virtanen collaborated closely with Franck during the 1970s and was inspired to create this chair after being awarded the Kaj Franck Design Award in 2022.
