PP112 Easy chair, 1978
PP 112 easy chair by Hans Wegner for PP Mobler.
This light and elegant chair is a brilliant example of Wegner's insistence on traditional simplicity in both construction and design.
It was born from Hans Wegner's many attempts at creating a modern version of the British Windsor Chair, including features from the series of Chinese chairs. The fact that Wegner with this hybrid chair obviously returned to the theme of the Chinese Chair, just like he did with pp201/pp203, is also a testament to the close friendship with co-founder of PP Møbler, Ejnar Pedersen.
Indeed the pp66 Chinese Chair was the first of Wegner’s early chair designs to be reintroduced by PP Møbler, and one of Pedersen’s all-time favourite Wegner designs.

PP Møbler is a family owned Danish joinery workshop, established in 1953, with a strong tradition for crafting design furniture of the highest quality.
The motivation has always been the love of wood and a stubborn belief that technique, ingenuity and craftsmanship can be combined with good design and the pursuit of quality.
The world-famous Danish designer, Hans J. Wegner is very much the focus at PP Møbler. Nevertheless, other designers have also made important contributions to the production.
