Erberto Carboni

Born in Parma in 1922, Erberto Carboni is a modern architect and designer. He studied architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Parma, going on to work as a graphic illustrator. After moving to Milan in 1932, he started to collaborate with the Modern Office Magazine, but equally with modern Italian companies, such as, 'Olivetti, Campari and Strega. Yet alongside this graphic design work, he continued with his architectural practice; one of his most famous projects is his transformation of the Palazzo dell'Arte in Milan for the Triennial exhibit of 1935.

His practice continued into the 1970s, with the creation of works such as Totem 36 for the Venice Biennial, and a retrospective of his work in 1982 in Parma.
