Hans Coray was an influential designer and artist, his products are now manufactured by Vitra.
In the 1930s Coray's work played with metal and wire, applying it to both his industrial designs and sculptures. His experimental work was heavily influenced by the Dada movement in Zurich, mixing with figures which included Max Bill, Verena Loewensberg and Hans Fischli.
The Bauhaus graduate Hans Fischli, in 1958 encouraged Coray to create the official chair of the Swiss National Exhibition. His creation the Landi chair had an aluminium frame and was stackable, a new and modern design. The design is still in production today.
