Massif Bar Stool by Anderssen + Voll for &tradition.
The Massif bar and counter stools were born from Anderssen + Voll's ongoing study of a barstool in the studio, which they sought to develop through new and robust shapes. Anderssen + Voll allowed exploration and form to guide them during the design process, which led them to creating a graphic and visually striking design.
The Massif stools feature a wide disc that provides ample foot support. According to Andersen, this design element acts as though a section of the floor has been raised and put on four legs.
The stool silhouettes are reminiscent of mountain plateaus, which inspired the stool's name; "Massif" translates from French to mean "a mass of mountain peaks."

Materials
The seat and column are crafted from water based lacquered oak with base made from powder coated steel.
The seat and base are connected with a swivel mechanism made from laser cut stainless steel and nylon.Plastic gliders installed as standard.
