Chimera floor light, 1969
Chimera floor lamp by Vico Magistretti for Artemide.
Designed by Vico Magistretti in 1970, the Chimera floor lamp is a larger accomplice to the Mezzachimera table lamp. Sitting on a base of white painted metal, the gentle folds of heat-curved opal methacrylate shield the bulbs and diffuse the light, creating a soft glow.
Like the Mezzachimera, the Chimera is as much a display piece as a practical lamp.

Founded in the 1960s, Artemide is one of the most known illumination brands in the world.
Known for its 'The Human Light' philosophy, promoted by Carlotta de Bevilacqua, Artemide has changed the way to conceive and develop its products. The guiding idea was to start from people’s needs in terms of light, and understanding first and foremost how to respond to individual needs in the different spaces and stages of life.
