The Mantis floor lamp resembles a wired silhouette reminiscent of a weightless praying mantis. This design, envisioned by Schottlander, has undergone structural enhancements. It expertly plays with the delicate balance and imbalance, featuring a long steel rod topped by a black shade, pivoting on a ball joint and resting on a round base. The previous rack and counterweight system has been ingeniously replaced with a new base and arm, creating a symbolic "squaring of the circle" with captivating graphics and voids.
Now transformed into a genuine sculpture, the Mantis BS8 lamp is adjustable through a dial, granting it a broader range of applications.
