Niwaki is a company established by Jake Hobson in 1997 to make the very best Japanese garden tools available to British gardeners.

Niwaki is a company established by Jake Hobson in 1997 to make the very best Japanese garden tools available to British gardeners.

Hobson spent several years in Japan and trained in traditional methods of tree-training, pruning and rootballing while working at a plant nursery in a rural part of Osaka. On his return to the UK, Hobson realised that the tools he had been using in Japan were vastly superior to those available at home, and set about importing a range of secateurs, snips and hoes designed to make garden work more efficient and pleasurable - for both amateur gardeners and experts.
