Christian Dell is a modern German designer. He studied at the Saxon College of Arts and Crafts in Weimar from 1912. He then went on to work at the Bauhaus in 1922, as part of their metal workshop. Here he worked with the iconic modernist figures of Johannes Itten, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Alfred Arndt and Marianne Brandt.
In 1926 he created the Kaiser range of lamps. A functional, industrial-inspired design for use in the home and at work. The lamps are still produced by Lightyears.
