Jonas Bohlin

Jonas Bohlin was born in Stockholm in 1953. He has a degree in constructional engineering and graduated in interior design at The College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm in 1981. He is recognised as one of the best designers in Sweden.

His career started with the success in 1981 of the concrete chair named “Concrete” which created much debate in the design community. What is most important – shape or function? The chair was meant as a sculpture but was made in a limited edition and is today a collector’s item.

Jonas Bohlin has had an architects practice since 1983. Teaching at Beckman’s School of Design since 1988 and professor in interior architecture at The College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm. He has been awarded several prizes, awards and distinctions and has taken part in exhibitions all over the world.
