Riccardo Blumer

Riccardo Blumber is a designer born in Bergamo, Italy and now based in Venice. He graduated from the Milan Polytechnic. In 1996, he designed the Laleggera range for Alias. The Alias collection uses research and technology to combine solid traditional materials and wood to create light and modern structured furniture. In 1998 it won the ADI Compasso d’Oro design award and in 2009 it became part of the resident MoMA collection in New York. 

Since 2006, Blumer has been a teacher at the Architecture Academy in Mendrisio and from 2003 taught at the University of San Marino and the Internal Superior Institute of Indoor Architecture. 

In collaboration with Alias and Matteo Borghi, he designed the bench Ghias and the ergonomic stool Dinamica.
