Sam Hecht + Kim Colin

Sam Hecht began his expertise whilst attending Central Saint Martins School of Art, in London. Following his studies, he completed apprenticeships including David Chipperfield. Hecht focus is on industrial design and architecture, and that simplicity can inspire. Sam Hecht also did a masters at the Royal College of Art, which led him to spend time in California with Ideo and in Tokyo. One of his most prominent collaborations is with Naoto Fukasawa. 

He founded Industrial Facility in 2002, alongside Kim Colin. Industrial Facility have collaborated and worked with a number of manufacturers and projects, including Muji and Taylor's Eye Witness. He produced notable pieces with Robert Welch’s work, which were chosen for the Museum fűr Kunsthandwerk, Frankfurt and awarded the Design Plus and of Gold Prize in 2006. In 2010 he was awarded the ‘Designs of the Year’ for the Branca chair.
