Tristram Mylius

Born in 1946 in Scotland, Tristram Mylius studied product and furniture design at Hornsey College of Art, London before working on product, architectural and interior projects for architect Theo Crosby at design consultancy Crosby Fletcher Forbes (later Pentagram).

Tristram Mylius founded Hitch Mylius alongside Hazel Mylius in 1971, designing a range of the company's core collections including the hm11 series, which developed into the hm34 and hm46, along with others. 

As Editor of Hitch Mylius, Tristram uses a keen eye for detail and proportion and a hands-on approach to oversee product development processes. Being instrumental in introducing up and coming designers to the Hitch Mylius

In his role as ‘editor’, and with a discerning eye for proportion and detail, Mylius’s hands-on approach to product development has been instrumental in bringing the work of outside designers into the Hitch Mylius catalogue.
