Václav Špála

Václav Špála (1885-1946) was a Czech painter, graphic designer and illustrator. His early works were greatly influenced by Fauvism and Cubism and later progressed to mostly painting landscapes and still-lives. Špála's contributions to Czech modern art, earned him the title of National Artist which he was awarded in 1946.
