Royal Doulton

Royal Doulton is a heritage British brand, established in 1815 as a manufacturer of stoneware items ranging from decorative bottles to the salt-glazed pipes which were used in London's sewers.

Over the centuries the company's focus shifted to more decorative but no less functional collections of tableware and glassware as well as bone china. Today it enjoys a reputation as a one of the UK’s foremost makers of ceramics.

Royal Doulton celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2015, and in the same year launched the Olio collection, designed by Barber & Osgerby. Inspired by the concept of a miscellany, this extensive range of tableware features an elegant combination of materials, colours and finishes which can be mixed and matched to create a unique and personalised collection which sits happily within a range of domestic settings.

Barber & Osgerby have cited the early history of Royal Doulton as a specific reference which has inspired the use of exposed stoneware in the collection.

Pieces from the Olio collection are currently available from twentytwentyone.
