Victorinox was founded as a cutlery business in 1884 by Karl Elsener, inventor of the original Swiss Army Knife.
Elsner devised this vital tool, given by the Swiss Army to all its recruits, in 1897. Since then, the classic penknife has become a trusted tool used worldwide.
Today, Victorinox is the largest manufacturer of pocket knives in the world. The extensive range of penknives is still produced from its base in the canton of Schwyz, Switzerland.
