Moka Espresso Maker
Moka Espresso Maker by David Chipperfield for Alessi.
British architect David Chipperfield has sensitively re-engineered the iconic Moka espresso maker, first designed in the 1930s by Alfonso Bialetti. Wanting to preserve its heritage, the new design instead looks to introduce subtle detailing to add additional functionality to the classic Italian design.
The new Moka has eleven sides, enhancing its proportions and also integrating the spout into one facet. It features a flat lid that will accommodate cups, heating them during the brewing process, a more curvaceous base and a change in the position of the knob, allowing the lid to be raised with one hand.
Available in two sizes - 3 cup and 6 cups.
