Ex-display items have some signs of use and we recommend a detailed condition report prior to purchase.

This item is a one-off ex-display item to be sold on a first order, first served basis.

The RFH Terrace Chair was designed by Robin Day in 1951 to sit within the Royal Festival Hall's outdoor terrace. The chair, which was never mass-produced, has become increasingly rare over the years, posing a challenge to &Tradition and the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation, who were determined to find one after seeing it in an old photograph.

Eventually, they were able to locate a single, well-preserved chair in the venue's archives, leading to the chair's revival in 2024.

The seat is constructed from durable teak slats of varying lengths, providing ergonomic benefits and a distinct, organic aesthetic. Its small size offers a light and airy feel, making it ideal for smaller city balconies and hospitality settings that aim to maximise space.

The seat is supported by black, high-strength bent steel tube legs, with a slightly raised arch creating a low-profile armrest for user support and easy movement.
