In celebration of Hans J. Wegner's 110th birthday in April 2024, Carl Hansen & Søn present the first edition of his iconic CH24 Wishbone Chair for children. The immediately recognisable CH24 chair was designed in 1949 and has been continuously produced since 1950.
The CH24 was the first chair Wegner designed for Carl Hansen & Son. Popularly known as the 'wishbone chair' or 'Y' chair due to the signature steam-moulded Y-shaped back which provides support and stability. Although reduced in scale, the CH24 Children's chair is no less complex. The chair is crafted in Denmark and requires 14 components and more than one hundred production steps, most of which are completed by hand.
The seat is hand woven in the envelope pattern, requiring 75 meters of paper cord. The paper cord used for the children's chair is thinner, providing a lighter expression to match the chair's dimensions.
The CH24 Children's Chair is suitable for children from the age of three.
