Following mixed reviews upon its original launch in 1963, the distinctive CH07 chair's initial production was very limited. When reintroduced by Carl Hansen & Son in 1998 it soon gained broad public acclaim, demonstrating Wegner’s truly visionary design and unique appreciation of the possibilities of woodcraft.
The CH07, also coined ‘the smiling chair’ is an exceptionally comfortable chair with a floating appearance and strong stability. Featuring an organically curved wing-like seat and reclining backrest that gently supports the body, the elegant silhouette fulfills Wegner's minimalist ideals while maximizing comfort.

Materials
Available in Danish hardwoods (beech or oak) in a variety of finishes ( clear lacquer, oil, white oil, smoked stain or lacquered in CHS colour). PDF available to download to illustrate the different wood finishes.
Seat upholstered in a choice of various Carl Hansen fabrics or leathers. See downloadable specification sheet for details of the relevant Kvadrat and Gabriel fabric collections.

Beech and oak finishes are FSC certified.
